Experience makes the difference.

Membership

A strong membership -- or "friends" -- base is a great source of financial strength for nonprofits. It not only brings steady annual revenue, it opens the door to ongoing, higher levels of giving. Growing your membership rolls in today's intensively competitive environment is a challenge, but results justify efforts.

Success depends on donors’ belief they get something for their membership beyond supporting the organization:  ticket or gift shop discounts; first priority in classes or events; specialized information. Nonprofits can cultivate members to additional giving levels -- larger individual gifts, donations to capital campaigns, participation in planned giving.

EMD principals have an extremely strong record in membership cultivation. Pat Rich, one of EMD's founding principals, is co-author of Membership Development: An Action Plan for Results, a frequently used resource for fundraising.

EMD has provided experienced and disciplined consultation on a number of strategic initiatives critical to Cleveland Botanical Garden’s success. As the name EMD makes plain, there is just no substitute for experience ... process is focused, yet flexible, and the resulting reports are highly actionable"
