Association of Fundraising Professionals

AFP is a membership organization “working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs.” It offers seminars, webinars, other information. The St. Louis chapter has monthly meetings and educational opportunities. The national group offers additional educational opportunities including an annual conference.

American Association of Grant Professionals

A nonprofit membership organization that “builds and supports an international community of grant professionals committed to serving the greater public good by practicing the highest ethical and professional standards.” Check the ‘chapters’ menu to find a group in your area.

American Association of Museums

National organization whose mission is to strengthen museums through leadership, advocacy, collaboration and service.
 

Chronicle of Philanthropy

News about most aspects of worldwide philanthropy, mainly focused on the U.S. Also offers webinars, links to blogs.

Council on Foundations

Nonprofit membership organization of grantmaking foundations and corporations.

GuideStar

A 501(c)(3) organization that gathers and publicizes information about nonprofit organizations. Frequently used by researchers as a source for IRS 990 forms and other information about specific nonprofits.

Gateway Center for Giving

An association of grantmakers serving the St. Louis region including information for nonprofits.
